We, the messengers to the 2009 Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, meeting at First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma, November 9-10, 2009, concerned by the state of moral decline, loss of Christian identity and lack of influence of the Church in the public affairs of our state and nation, commit ourselves to pray for repentance and revival. We, the messengers to the 2009 Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, meeting at First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma, November 9-10, 2009, recognize that human life is created by God in His image, beginning at conception and ending at natural death. Abortion, euthanasia or any termination of innocent human life is forbidden by God. We commend the efforts of Oklahomans who are active in the passage of pro-life legislation. We strongly encourage and exhort all Oklahoma Baptists to uphold the sanctity of human life in any proposed state or federal legislation. We resolve to promote Rose Day (February 3, 2010) as an effective means to demonstrate our convictions concerning the sanctity of human life.

On the Covenant of Traditional Marriage

We, the messengers to the 2009 Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, meeting at First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma, November 9-10, 2009, believe the Biblical definition of marriage is the unity of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.
